……..Anthony Joshua vs Joseph Parker for Showtime Boxing. This was the second time that I had worked for Showtime in the build up to the fight night. On both Occasions Joshua had the Millennium Stadium (as it was then in 2018) as the venue.
This was the “Hype Video” that we shot at Joshua’s training camp at the Team GB Boxing facility in Sheffield. Being around a boxer’s camp is always a bit odd. They aren’t like any other professional sport, certainly Team sports, that I have been around. In boxing the boxer is ultimately the owner as well as the athlete, so while there are coaches, promoters and managers, when it boils down to it, it’s AJ’s way or the highway. Coupled to this, on the last day of filming in camp it was the start of the “Beast from the East'' blasting through the UK, before we were due to finish AJ’s training session and wrap filming the facility closed down around us. AJ and his guys had a snowball fight in the car park and we all headed home. Nothing is too odd in the world of professional boxing.
